This is a very old variety with excellent yields. Manitoba tomatoes were originally developed in the mid-1950s by Morden Experimental Farm in Morden to ripen during the short summer season. They have medium to large fruits that weigh about 170 grams. The bright red fruit has a smooth skin and firm, juicy flesh with a refreshing, strong tomato flavor. The variety is great for slicing and canning.
