Cucurbita pepo var. giromontina, also known as the Tapir zucchini, is notable for its huge, cylindrical fruits with strikingly colored skin. Dark green stripes with a light green hue run longitudinally and irregularly across the surface of ripe fruit. The zucchini looks a bit marbled, making it visually a very attractive variety for your vegetable garden. They are recommended for stewing, baking, stuffing and cooking in the oven. The zucchini ‘Tapi’ not only tastes delicious, but so has wonderful presentation value. These zucchini have a high nutritional value while being low in calories because their delicate flesh contains all the essential vitamins as well as mineral salts such as potassium, magnesium and iron.

When sowing zucchini seeds directly into the ground or on seed pallets, 2 to 4 seeds are inserted into each hole. Cultivation begins in the spring, but direct sowing in the soil of the vegetable garden is not done until the second half of May, after icing saints.

The chosen location in your vegetable garden for growing zucchini should be warm and sunny, and the soil should be gently loosened and replenished with compost/soil improvers to improve structure and water-holding capacity. After about 80 days after sowing, beautifully developed, vibrant Tapir zucchinis can be picked in July and August.

Each package contains three grams of Tapir zucchini seeds. On the package is information about seedability and cultivation requirements.
