Buy spring onion seeds
This spring onion plant stands up well to the cold and is also widely used to make chives. It develops an attractive thickening of purplish-red color that eventually develops into tubular, green leaves as you would expect from spring onion.
From April to the end of August, sow seeds directly into the soil in rows every 30 cm, at a depth of 1-2 cm. Spring onion we get from spring sowing in the summer, and only from summer sowing the following spring.
A seven-year-old spring onion plant needs fertile, slightly moist soil. It should not remain in one place for more than three to four years because it infects the soil and seriously sterilizes it.
