Radish seeds ‘Krakowianka’ produce an early variety of radish, recommended for spring cultivation in open ground and unheated foil tunnels. It is characterized by high resistance to desiccation and early sprouting in shoots.
Radishes are sown directly into the ground, preferably in April. When grown in the tunnel, seeds are sown in March, spaced 20×3-4 cm apart to a depth of 1.5-2 cm , fully developed radishes are harvested 32 days after sowing . The radish harvest begins in mid-April (from the tunnel) and if they are sown in the ground in April, we will be able to harvest them in May or June.
Radishes can be sown alongside: tomatoes, carrots, beans, chard. Protect lettuce, carrots and spinach from pests. It is worth sowing cress, chamomile and chervil between the beds. It is not recommended to sow it next to onion or cucumber. It is a good pre-crop for cucumbers or tomatoes.
Radish is sown in rows, in a sunny position, in permeable soil with low nitrogen concentration, and therefore should not be grown on soil after brassica.
