Luigi Mauriello, a famous Italian farmer, first found this pepper variety. The Giant White Habanero, also known as the Habanero White Giant, is a variety he discovered from an Italian trader 20 years ago (1992-1993); it is from an unidentified region of the Caribbean. The dealer did not manage to continue breeding this type, and Luigi now owned the only original species. Seeds of this type were distributed around the world by Luigi, but few people have been able to grow it because it is a challenging plant. Over the years, the plant has continued to grow into a good-to-grow, and high-producing plant.
