Description celeriac Makar
Makar celeriac belongs to the group of celery that ripens moderately early. It grows to a fairly high height and is richly foliated. As for root thickening, or the tuber, it should first be noted that when ripe, they weigh about 800 grams. They usually have a spherical shape, but are sometimes slightly flattened from the top. The flesh of this celeriac is stained and has a creamy white hue.

This variety of celery is very prolific and at the same time reliable and stable. This is also mainly due to its genetically determined resistance to leaf septoriosis. It is worth noting that because of this, celeriac Makar does not require cultivation with herbicides, which is necessary for varieties susceptible to this disease. You also prefer to work as little as possible with hebicides and pesticides in your vegetable garden. Moreover, the thickening of this celery, the tuber, does not tend to be spicy and perfectly tolerates storage for long periods of time. Their undisputed advantage is also that they are rich in aromatic compounds responsible for their characteristic aroma and interesting taste.
Use in the vegetable garden
It is necessary to mention that Makar celery is suitable for bunch harvesting, all thanks to the fact that it can be grown quite early due to its relatively short vegetation period. This species has a very broad spectrum of applications. The yields from the harvest can be used for fresh consumption, and for to process by, for example, freezing, processing in vegetable mixes, for dried vegetables, used in condiments, sauces and powdered soups and, of course, for pickling. Moreover, celery is also used in the pharmaceutical industry because it has anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties. All in all, a worthy addition to your vegetable garden.
