Broccoli is still not one of the most widely grown plants in the vegetable garden. Too bad, because the florets of this plant are a good source of vitamins and minerals. This ocultivar is called Cezar and thrives well in backyard gardens. In addition, it is often chosen for commercial growth because it is easy to grow.
Broccoli rose
The Cezar broccoli rose is truly distinctive; it has a dark green color with purple undertones. The cultivar is notable for a very compact growth habit that looks more like a cauliflower. The florets develop quite quickly and do not become overgrown with leaves. They have a delicious taste.
Harvest date
The harvest date is determined by when the seeds or seedlings were planted. It can occur between September and November or in July and August, although it is advisable to grow Cezar broccoli as polonium for the fall harvest.
Application
Cezar’s broccoli florets are excellent for freezing because it prevents loss of color and flavor. For this purpose, they are also often used in the vegetable processing industry. They are ideal for eating immediately, whether as an appetizer with dinner, or as part of the filling of dumplings or wok dishes. In amateur cultivation, they can also be frozen. Everyone will love a delicious broccoli cream soup, for example, because of the unique flavor of the broccoli. Because of its higher vitamin C content compared to other varieties, Cezar broccoli is worth adding to the garden.
Frost resistance
Broccoli does not have good cold tolerance; it is not frost-resistant. Even when protected from the cold, it does not survive the winter in the ground.
All varieties of broccoli, including Cezar, are grown in a sunny spot, but the plant can also withstand some light shade. To flourish, broccoli needs rich, well-drained soil that is ideally moist. There should be a slight structure in the soil. It is good to lightly lime the substrate before starting cultivation.
Plant them at a distance of 50×50 centimeters apart.
Brassica oleracea convar. botrytis var. cymosa “Cezar” is the scientific name.
