Serrano seeds produce the Serrano plant. Serrano peppers are hot chili peppers, named after the mountain ridges in Mexico where they come from. Considered a fruit, they are popular in Mexican cuisine – just behind the jalapeño pepper. The small peppers also appear in Southeast Asian cuisine, adding a spicy bite everywhere. With a fiery heat and pungent flavor, they can be eaten raw in sauces and dips, pickled or boiled.

The serrano pepper plant thrives in areas with hot summers and milder winters, such as Mexico. The price of peppers fluctuates with supply and demand. Supply is loosely dependent on weather, which can help or hinder a crop. Serrano peppers are often confused with jalapeño peppers, but are smaller and can get up to 10 times hotter. Torpedo-shaped and usually no longer than 5 cm, serrano peppers can be found in a rainbow of colors depending on ripeness, from green to yellow, orange, red and even brown.

Minimal preparation is required to use serrano peppers: just rinse and slice, but it is important to avoid the chili oil of the pepper to avoid burning skin and eyes.

Serrano pepper seeds

These Serrano seeds come from selected growers who carefully isolate and dry their pepper seeds from their strongest plants. This eliminates the chance of cross-pollination, and our seeds deliver great germination.

Organic pepper seeds

Our Serrano pepper seeds come from an Ethno botanist. Ethnobotany is the study of the relationship between humans and plants. By taking this into account, the plants, and therefore pepper seeds, are grown strictly organically.
