This romaine lettuce ‘Galba’ is an early variety of cut lettuce with a cultivation period of 55 days. This lettuce is recommended for spring and fall cultivation in the open ground. But can also be pre-sown in January and February under glass.

This lettuce variety is resistant to most mildew varieties (Bi 1-19EU, 21-31EU). Romaine lettuce forms oblong leaves that are densely packed, and a beautiful green rosette.

Winter cultivation:

This romaine lettuce can be grown in winter as long as you sow it under glass (in the greenhouse) or indoors in a propagator, for example. Then plant them out in the spring.

Spring crop:

For spring cultivation we recommend growing from seedlings, seeds are sown in a seedbed from early March to April.

Autumn cultivation

Lettuce seeds are sown directly into the soil, seeds are sown from July to August at a distance of 30-40 × 20-30 cm and are sown to a depth of about 0.5 cm.

Proven seeds:

  • The shelf life of these Roman lettuce seeds for sowing is from 2 to 5 years, depending on the batch and type of seeds.
  • The packaging of the seeds serves as evidence in the claim
  • The supplier we offer seeds from falls under the ISTA (International Seed Evaluation Associaton)

The WegAna producer is a Polish supplier with high quality seeds. However, they only supply packaging with Polish text. However, the seeds are exactly the same as many Dutch suppliers, but more economical.
