Red cabbage is a type of vegetable cabbage, just like white or green (Savoy) cabbage. In ancient times, it was already eaten in Rome and Greece. Magnesium, calcium, iron, iodine, beta-carotene and vitamins are abundant in it. Moreover, it contains many anthocyanins, which are responsible for the distinctive color of cabbage, which are also very powerful antioxidants. With all this, it qualifies as a vegetable that inhibits the growth of atherosclerosis and cancer.

Early maturing Koda red cabbage is grown for summer harvest. From seedling planting to harvest, the vegetative season lasts 90-100 days. It produces medium-sized, compact, dark red, spherical heads that should be placed shallowly. Because of its relatively short vegetative period, it is a very good red cabbage for the vegetable garden. Koda is less good for storage and therefore perfect for immediate use or preservation.

Sow this cabbage from late February to late March in covered areas such as foil tunnels or greenhouses. Transplanting seedlings at stage 3-4, when they already have a few leaves, requires fertile soil and should be done at a distance of 50-60×50-60 cm.

Red cabbage is a highly valued component of vegetable dishes and salads. Moreover, you can simmer it with meat and other vegetables. Red cabbage leaves can be used to fry or roast meat. On the other hand, the juice is used to make a syrup or healthy vegetable juices.
