A long, thin and pungent pepper variety, first described in 1493 by a man named Cuneo, who saw Indians eating the fruit of the Cayenne plant. Cayenne peppers are used ripe – red, as well as green in a less spicy version and in ground form. A popular spice in the cuisines of South America, China, India and Indonesia. It is one of the most commercially grown pepper varieties in America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Much of it goes to the US, where huge quantities of spicy Cayenne sauces are made. It gives high yields and is one of the less demanding varieties, and is grown both in the open ground and in pots. Plants reach an average height of 75 cm. If ej plant them in the ground, do so at a distance of 0.5 m – 0.75 m from each other.

Cayenne peppers are one of the richest spicy sources of vitamins, especially vitamin A. 100 g of cayenne pepper contains as much as 41,610 IU of vitamin A (1387% RDA). In addition, it contains antioxidant flavonoids such as carotenes, lutein, zeaxanthin and cryptoxanthin.

All of these substances have antioxidant properties, helping to protect the body from the harmful effects of free radicals, e.g., during stress.

It is distinguished by a particularly high content of vitamins C and A. Fresh cayenne, red or green, is a very rich source of vitamin C, which is also a powerful antioxidant.

Cayenne pepper seeds

These Cayenne pepper seeds come from selected growers who carefully isolate and dry their pepper seeds from their strongest plants. This eliminates the chance of cross-pollination, and our seeds deliver great germination.

Organic pepper seeds

Our Cayenne pepper seeds come from an Ethno botanist. Ethnobotany is the study of the relationship between humans and plants. By taking this into account, the plants, and therefore pepper seeds, are grown strictly organically.
