These Carbonero seeds produce the Carbonero pepper. The vividly colored, wrinkled carbonero chili peppers, scientifically known as Capsicum chinense, are grown on a small, solanaceous plant that grows just over a meter tall and is a member of the nightshade family. The hybrid variety of Carbonero chili peppers, also called Carbonero Oe chili peppers, was created by Tony Sherwood, a self-described “chili head” from Florida.
Carbonero chili peppers have a hot hit level similar to a scotch bonnet or habanero pepper, averaging about 350,000 SHU on the Scoville scale. They are produced by first crossing the bhut jolokia pepper with a yellow 7-pot pepper and then crossing that pepper with an orange Habanero. A special cultivar for use in hot sauces and powders, carbonero chili peppers are preferred for their sweet flavor and slow-releasing heat, and are grown mainly in home gardens.
Carbonero pepper seeds
These Carbonero seeds come from selected growers who carefully isolate and dry their pepper seeds from their strongest plants. This eliminates the chance of cross-pollination, and our seeds deliver great germination.
Organic pepper seeds
Our Carbonero pepper seeds come from an Ethno botanist. Ethnobotany is the study of the relationship between humans and plants. By taking this into account, the plants, and therefore pepper seeds, are grown strictly organically.
